Rude Awakening

Here is what we learned about our smoke detector when it went off at 6am this morning:

It is very loud and
It's connected to an electrical supply
(i.e. not easily disconnected to stop the VERY LOUD noise once we assessed the situation and found no obvious fires or other problems)

Moral of the story: put it on the growing list of things to do
(Replace electric supplied smoke detector with a batter operated one)
On the bright side, I guess it is good to know that it needs to be replaced

PS - for those who experienced it, this morning felt like a throw back to the sensitive fire alarm at Fraternity Row #4
