A brush with fame

My question about football was answered
by VIC KETCHMAN Senior Editor, jaguars.com!

Alison from Roswell, GA:
My husband reads your column religiously and he has me hooked now as well. I thought today would be a good day to write my first question because he did not know the answer to my question and, when he doesn't know the answer, he usually says, “Why don't you ask Vic?” So, my question is: If a player who is in question of receiving a roster spot is injured during a preseason game (or during preseason activities), what is the responsibility of the team or the league to that injured player?

Vic: The team is responsible for his medical care and recovery. During that recovery period, he is paid his salary. When his recovery is complete, if the team does not want to keep him, the team must offer him an injury settlement.
