Suddenly I See

I don't think I have posted about this yet...

When I was in labor for Madeline, Andy had plenty of distractions at hand chosen wisely during a hasty trip home to pack the hospital bag that we planned out in our heads on our way to what turned out to be my last prenatal checkup. According to Andy (because most of April 3, 2008 is a blur to me) we watched My Best Friend's Wedding a few times with a little Pretty Woman mixed in here and there while I dozed in and out of epidural drowsiness (or maybe it was the Magnesium Sulfate - ick). It's probably true that a person is a pretty true version of herself at moments such as these and apparently I like Julia Roberts...but that's not the point of this story. Also among the distractions was my iPhone, which contained a few of my favorite tunes. However, that day I listened to one of those songs with a different ear and it has taken on a whole new meaning for me - a Madeline theme song if you will. The song is Suddenly I See by KT Tunstall and, for me, it does a wonderful job of capturing a lot of those feelings that I had that day that and since MAC has entered my life. Oh, and, to make it even more appropriate, KT Tunstall is Scottish. I'm guessing that the song won't have the same effect for you, but I thought I would share anyway. I have posted the lyrics below.
