We had so much fun last Saturday picking out pumpkins at a local pick-it-yourself (organic) farm! Technically didn't pick the pumpkins directly off the vine (but you can pick lots of other foods, especially berries when in season at this farm). The farmers picked the pumpkins elsewhere and spread them out in a field, but it was still fun wandering around to select some good carving pumpkins. We parked our car and hopped on the hayride to the pumpkin area. They had laid out the little pumpkins near the drop-off point and then the big ones were at the top of the hill separated by a few rows of cotton. Mason was mesmerized (obsessed) with the hayride tractors. He was so mad when the hayride stopped to let us off (pissed - angry crying). Then he recovered and helped hunt for some mini pumpkins (reminded me of Easter egg hunting). When we reached the area with the carving-size pumpkins he stood and watched the hayride tractors come and pick people up. Perhaps I see a trip to see some farm machinery in his future during a visit to Nana & G-man. Madeline was also excited but very down-to-business about getting some good pumpkins. She and Dad wandered around to pick pumpkins while Mason and I watched the tractors (if he is pointing in a picture, he was pointing at a tractor) and manned our pumpkin stash. It was a beautiful fall day (clear skies and 60s) for a trip to the pumpkin patch!

"Do you see the tractor!? There's ANOTHER TRACTOR coming!"
